Program Description The Detroit Neighborhood Arts Workshops support the creative inspiration of Middle School students through hands-on-instruction in painting, drawing, graphic and digital arts. Participating students and their families prepare for the numerous career and education opportunities available to them in the worlds of art and design.

African Dance Group

Program Description

African Dance Works is a 501c3 non-profit corporation. Through community classes, weekend workshops, after-school programs, and educational materials, ADW provides resources on African dance and associated art forms (e.g., adornment, drumming and folklore) for metro Detroit youth and families. Traditional African dance commemorated community and major life events, reinforcing family as well as community health and pride. African Dance Works is committed to promoting healthy communities through cultural enrichment and physical fitness.

At the Center, African Dance Works has help organize a Family Night and is committed to additional programming in the near future.
